Log - definitions

Log - A collection of records that describe the events that occur during DBMS execution and their sequence. The information thus recorded is used for recovery in the event of a failure during DBMS execution.

Log - Log is an ordered append-only sequence of records. Log can be used for monitoring, debugging, restoration after a node failure and for processes isolation. Log also can help to reduce the number of integration points between subsystems in complex architectures as it makes any dataset available for any subscriber.
