The French Southern Territories is an overseas territory of France. It includes the islands of Ile Amsterdam External, Ile Saint-Paul External, Iles Crozet External, Iles Kerguelen External and les Iles Eparses de l'Océan Indien External ( Bassas da India External, l'Ile Europa External, les Iles Glorieuses External, l'Ile Juan de Nova External and l'Ile Tromelin External) in the southern Indian Ocean. Included also is the Antarctic area of Adélie Land External, though this claim is not recognized by the international community.
