Most of the population speak Marshallese , the official language, in one of two dialects.
Recently independent of the United States of America (1990), it still forms part of the United States’ postal system. Its state code is MH and its postal codes (ZIP Codes) fall in the range 96960-70.
The name of the island or reef may be included in the address.
