CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) : A system for verifying the integrity of United States addresses against a USPS maintained database containing every mailing address in the United States. The system is concerned with just the addresses, not the people or organisations residing at these addresses.

CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) : The Coding Accuracy Support System, or CASSTM, is a system designed to improve the accuracy of the address and ZIP CodeTM that appears on each item in a bulk mailing.

Mailings that are CASS CertifiedTM are eligible for certain bulk mail postage discounts. In order to become CASS Certified, the mailing list must be run through a software program approved by the USPS®.

Coding Accuracy Support System (CASS) - A service offered to mailers, service bureaus, and software vendors that improves the accuracy of matching to delivery point codes, ZIP+4 codes, 5-digit ZIP Codes, and carrier route codes on mailpieces. CASS provides a common platform to measure the quality of address matching software and to diagnose and correct software problems.

CASS - An acronym for Coding Accuracy Support System, a USPS program that sets standards for commercial software that appends ZIP+4 codes. The software must be submitted to an annual audit by the USPS to confirm that the software performs correctly. By passing the audit, the software becomes CASS certified. In order to qualify for postal discounts for ZIP+4 or barcoding, mailers are required to produce a CASS certificate (USPS Form 3553) which verifies that the ZIP+4s have been obtained from CASS-certified software.
