Graphical Identification and Authentication (GINA) - definition(s)

GINA - GINA is a generic acronym for the Graphical Identification and Authentication, the subsystem that handles the logon presentation to the user. The Microsoft GINA is represented by the logon screen that pops up on the PC when the user presses Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

Windows 2000 and XP rely on a GINA DLL for Graphical Identification and Authentication. The Microsoft GINA DLL is called MSGINA.DLL.
