JavaScript - A scripting language developed to enable web authors to design interactive sites. Although it shares some features and structures of the full Java language, it was developed independently by Netscape and is not compiled or object-oriented like Java. JavaScript can interact with HTML source code, enabling web authors to spice up their sites with dynamic content. JavaScript is an open language that doesn't require a license but sometimes operates differently in different web browsers) e.g. internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape).
