Semantics

Semantics - In a broad sense, the study of meaning. The relationships of characters or groups of characters to their meanings, independent of the manner of their interpretation and use. Contrast with syntax. In the context of Information Technology, Semantics Technology offer capabilities for extracting information from data and for deriving value from an organization's information collections.
