The postal code (الرمز البريدي) consists of a block of 3 digits written on the address line above the place name. The first digit (between 1 and 8) indicates the governorate, the last two the post office. The first digit of the postal code for each governorate is:

   Al Batinah North 3 (shared with Al Batinah South)
   Al Batinah South 3 (shared with Al Batinah North)
