Database Information, contain postal code format rules for every country with a postal code system. It is an ideal resource for parsing postal codes or for ensuring correct data entry.
The data is provided in two files. The first contains valid postal code format rules, and also commonly mis-formatted versions. The data contained is:

A flag to indicate whether the given format is correct or a common error

One code per postal code character position to indicate the expected character type.
The second table contains characters which are not allowed in the postal codes in the country concerned. This is not a complete list - it is intended as a complement to the format rules above:

Formats
Data is held in Microsoft
Visual FoxPro format, but can be provided also in these formats: FoxPro 2.x
(dBase III+), comma delimited text, tab delimited text, fixed column width text,
and Excel. Data ordered will be e-mailed.
