The mail system for the Faeroe Islands is administered by Denmark. Unlike Danish postal codes, The Faeroe Island postal code (Postnummar) consists of a block of 3 digits, the first digit being a number between 1 and 9.

Post office boxes in the capital, Tórshavn, have a separate postal code (110), as do those in Argir (165). All other settlements have their own postal code.
